About Jeffrey Hornstein

Jeffrey Hornstein Headshot Photography for Actos

For over 25 years, I've been a photographer in New York City, doing what I do best: photographing performers and growing with them over their careers. Regardless of where you are in your career, my goal as a photographer is to help you exude a unique sense of confidence and charisma. I'm fortunate to have helped many performers get their careers off the ground!

I'm incredibly intuitive and fascinated by performers and artists from all walks of life. When we work together, it's all about YOU. I will ask the tough questions...like what are your goals and dreams? Where does your passion lie? Where are your interests? What is your type? Know how to market yourself so we can create images with impact!

In addition to working with actors and performers I have enjoyed working with many corporate accounts such as major law firms Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan and Dentons. I have done photographic assignments for Verizon, Met Life, Time-Life Publishing, Conde-Nast Publishing, Hacchette-Fillipachi Publishing, Meredith Publishing, American Express, Capital One Bank and countless others. I LOVE my corporate clients and know how to make them feel at ease! Editorially my work has appeared in Home in Canada, Details, Super Lawyers Magazine, Genre, Detour Magazine, Spur Magazine Japan, Child Magazine, Dance Spirit, Savoy, Playgirl, and recently executed a portrait assignment for Forbes magazine.

I photographed the cover art of iconic industrial designer Karim Rashid for the prestigious "Home in Canada" magazine. I am currently working on a coffee table book project featuring legendary celebrities in the worlds of the arts and culture. These include photographs of Tovah Feldshuh, Carol Channing, Tony Randall, Billy Norwich, Paul Sorvino, Marilyn Horne, Eli Wallach, Helen Gurley-Brown, Geoffrey Holder, Zoe Caldwell, Soupy Sales and Hume Cronyn. Other actors and musicians I have photographed headshots for include Jennifer Esposito, Matthew Fox, Cheyenne Jackson, Kelly Ripa, Sam Harris, and The RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. In addition I have enjoyed shooting photographs of clothing designer Marc Jacobs, writers Paul Rudnick, Stewart Elliot, Douglas Carter Beane, Todd Haines, Susan Cooper, Douglas Brinkley, Tony Award Winning Playwright Jack O'Brien, and Playwright Terrance McNally, club impresario and Studio 54 founder Carmen D'Alessio, and Oscar winner for Best Picture 2019, Nick Vallelonga (The Green Book). I also recently finished a look-book for the Caribbean Joe clothing line.
